FixMate Provider App Setup Guide

Welcome to the FixMate Provider Mobile Application documentation. This guide covers how to install, configure, customize, and publish the provider app for service professionals on Android and iOS.

Prerequisites: Ensure you have Flutter SDK installed (version >= 3.9.0) and an IDE such as VS Code or Android Studio.

1. Project Setup

Follow these steps to initialize the provider application:

  1. Unzip the fixmate_provider_app source code package.
  2. Open the project folder in your preferred IDE (VS Code or Android Studio).
  3. Open a terminal inside the fixmate_provider_app directory and run:
flutter pub get

Running the Provider App

To run the application on a connected device or simulator:

  1. Connect your Android device via USB (with USB Debugging enabled) or start an iOS Simulator / Android Emulator.
  2. Execute the run command:
flutter run

2. API Configuration

Before launching the app, connect it to your hosted FixMate Laravel backend server.

HTTPS Requirement: All API requests in production require a secure HTTPS endpoint.
  1. Open lib/config/app_config.dart in the provider app.
  2. Set the baseUrl to your backend URL ending with /api:
// lib/config/app_config.dart

class AppConfig {
  static const String appName = 'FixMate Provider';
  static const String baseUrl = 'https://your-domain.com/api'; // MUST use https://
}

3. Key Provider Features

Authentication & Password Recovery

The app includes full registration, sign-in, and 4-digit OTP password reset with SMTP email integration configured dynamically via the Admin Panel (Settings > Email).

Service Management

Service providers can perform full CRUD operations on services:

  • Rich Text Editor: Integrated with flutter_quill for detailed HTML service descriptions.
  • Coverage Locations: City & State search dropdown (e.g. Florida City, Florida).
  • Add-on Services & Package Features: Custom add-ons with dynamic pricing and per-item image uploads.

Earnings & Withdrawals

Providers can track total earnings, pending payouts, completed bookings, and submit withdrawal requests directly from the wallet screen.

Bookings & Working Schedules

Manage customer bookings in real-time, view booking details, and manage provider availability slots.

4. Branding & Customization

Change App Name

  1. Update appName in lib/config/app_config.dart.
  2. Run the app renaming command:
flutter pub run rename_app:main all="FixMate Provider"

Change Package Name

flutter pub run change_app_package_name:main com.yourcompany.fixmateprovider
  1. Replace assets/images/logo.png (1024x1024px PNG).
  2. Run launcher icon generation:
flutter pub run flutter_launcher_icons

Theme & Colors

Primary color palette and styling tokens are managed in lib/utils/app_theme.dart.

5. Build & Deploy

Generate release packages for distribution on Google Play Store and Apple App Store:

Android (APK & App Bundle)

# Build APK
flutter build apk --release

# Build App Bundle (AAB) for Google Play
flutter build appbundle --release

iOS (IPA)

# Build IPA for App Store
flutter build ipa --release
